A genuine one-faced bead shows a single cleft (mukha) running across the surface, formed as the seed grew. The line is irregular and continuous, not a straight scored groove. Carved fakes tend to look too even and sharp-edged.

There are two things sold as "1 mukhi". The classic round single-faced rudraksha is genuinely rare. The far more common "half-moon" or cashew-shaped bead is technically a Bhadraksha seed. We tell you exactly which form a given piece is, and pair the rare round form with our Certificate of Authenticity — our written assurance it is a genuine, natural rudraksha of the stated form.
